Australia-The Land Down Under
The photographs you see here were taken in various parts of Australia, from
Kakadu National Park to central Australia's Outback.
Kakadu National Park is a large area near the city of Darwin on Australia's
northern coast. Kakadu was set aside to help preserve the wildlife native to
that area of Australia. Kakadu is a beautiful terrain filled with mountains,
waterfalls and forested areas. There is a wide variety of wildlife here mostly
nocturnal due to the intense heat during the day. Kakadu was made famous from
the movie Crocodile Dundee which was filmed there.
The Outback refers to the desert area in central Australia which is a large
percentage of the continent. Most of the area in the Outback is relatively flat
which some spectacular mountains that where pushed up from the land. The
mountains you see in the pictures here are the West McDonald Ranges, Mt Conner,
Ogles and Ayer's Rock. |
